Review: Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm

Firstly before I actually start this review I'd like to apologize for the fact that I haven't posted in ages. I've had to revise for exams and I just didn't have time to post, I also didn't have any ideas for posts but this week I got myself one of Revlon's newer products and thought I'd do a review for you. So here it is!

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm  in 'Provocateur'- £7.99
I've had my eye out for these ever since the other beauty bloggers posted reviews of them prior to their release. Last week I noticed they were in boots while I was browsing although they were all sold out. Just my luck. I gave the testers a little swatch nevertheless and, to be honest, I wasn't all that impressed personally by the colour range in my boots. I didn't really like any of the matte balms so I immediately went to the lacquer balms. I'm not really a fan of pinks on my lips or shimmery things so I wasn't all that impressed although I fell in love with this colour as soon as I saw it. This is a beautiful berry-like red colour that is absolutely gorgeous. I bought it this week when I went into boots and saw it which made me incredibly happy. When I bought it I didn't exactly think about how reds don't really suit me so when I got home I was pretty disappointed with the way it looked on me. However, I did find that if I put a small amount on and smudged it in to tone it down a bit then it looked great (which I was happy about).
Anyway, onto the actual product review. This product is so much more moisturising (in my opinion) than the kissable balm stains. I think the finish is beautiful and the product lasts really well, the colour doesn't fade off with daily wear as many lip products do and I think it is just beautiful. I am really happy with this product and I think it will be getting a lot of use over the spring and summer!

New Name and URL

On Tuesday 14th January 2014 my name and URL will be changing! I've decided to make this decision because I just don't think that 'Beauty by Emma E' is good enough and I think that it's a bit cheesy. So, my new URL will be: www.aspectofbeauty.blogspot.com

I thought I'd better tell you all in advance so that on Bloglovin' you know who I am and so that you can keep reading my blogposts!

Thank you for reading this blogpost, I hope to see you on my new account! Emma:)

Products I Regret Buying

Hooray! My camera is fixed! I finally have HD pictures again! So, due to the fact that I had to take pictures with my phone, for easiness I also posted from my phone. I did make a 2013 favourites post although it won't post, so I think I'll just leave it. Anyway, I decided to show you some of the products that I regret buying. I haven't got very many because now I research a product before I buy it, but here are some of the products I bought and didn't enjoy. (I won't provide any links to the products in this post because I don't recommend you get them).

Schwarzkopf got2b guardian angel
This was the first ever heat protector I got last year and I hated it. I have to say, it made my hair smell nice but I don't feel as if it did anything for my hair. By the next day after I had straightened my hair it had began to go curly so it wasn't the best for keeping your hair how you wanted. I just don't feel as if this product works as well as the treseme heat protectants.
Boots Skin Clear spot treatment
Because I'm only 15 I have blemishes here and there on my face, so naturally I go for skin care products that claim to help with spots etc. This is why I bought this although it did the opposite to what it claimed; it broke me out really badly so I've been far too scared to use it again. There are definitely different options that are better than this such as toothpaste.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Perfecting Crème
Don't get me wrong, I've used this several times and so have a few of my friends although it doesn't mean that I don't regret buying it. This product makes my hair look quite greasy and doesn't exactly keep my hair frizz-free, or anywhere near it for that matter. I was very disappointed with this product. I also regret buying the shampoo and conditioner from this range although I couldn't post pictures because I ended up throwing them out when I had a clear out.

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Oil Free Moisturiser
I first bought this when I was getting into skincare to match my pink grapefruit face wash. I hate this moisturiser with a passion, because it doesn't actually moisturise. I used to use this and it would actually burn my skin. A moisturiser, that burns? This also really dried up my skin so I've not used it since and it really deserves the bin.

Carmex Strawberry Lip Balm SPF 15
This is probably quite a controversial thing for me to put in here because so many people love this product. The claims say 'it soothes, it relieves, it moisturises' although I couldn't disagree more. This burns at my lips really badly, I don't know if its because I have sensitive lips or what, it just does. I've not been able to have this on for more than about 5 minutes because it hurts me so badly.

Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil
Another controversial one, I know. It's not that I don't like the product, I just don't like the smell. I seriously cannot stand the smell of this although I like the consistency of the product. Again, I can't use this for over 5 minutes but this time because of the smell.

New Name

Hey guys, so I really want a new, creative name for this blog. I just don't feel that Beauty by Emma E is creative or individual enough. I really like the names that are really creative and individual like I like 'A Beautiful Mess' although I'm definitely not stealing someone else's name.  If you have any ideas feel free to comment them or tweet them to me at @heartingTHG

December Favourites 2013!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope 2014 is a great year for all of you, I'll try my best to make more blog posts in 2014, if you could give me ideas of what you would like to see that would be great. I would also like to apologise for not posting in weeks, my camera is being funny and not charging (hence the bad quality of pictures, they were taken on my iphone so they're not the best), and I've just been super busy because of Christmas etc. So, let the favourites begin!

Katy Perry Killer Queen perfume - £26.09 (50ml)
Ok, so can we just take a moment to appreciate how amazing this perfume smells. Its amazing, not too sweet, just beautiful. I'm terrible at describing scents so it's probably best if you just go into your nearest perfume shop and give it a whiff.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge - £5.99
I'm sorry about the foundation marks on the sponge, I didn't have time to wash it as the sun was going down and I had to take the pictures for this post. I read a few reviews on this sponge before getting it and saw that it was compared to the beauty blender, which I have never tried because of its price. Because it was only £6 I decided to get it and give it a go, and I'm glad I did. This really does make your foundation look flawless, I'd seriously recommend this sponge for foundation and concealer.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in '001 Honey' - £7.99
I have raved about this balm stain before but in the colour 'Crush', which I also love. Although I feel as if I've hit the jackpot with this! I love this colour so much and I have been wearing it non stop, a must have colour for your collection!

EOS lip balm in 'Summer Fruits' - found on amazon
I absolutely love this lip balm and I have been using it everyday, and it's amazing for under lipsticks. I have to say that this is my favourite lip balm! Amazing.

Bourjois Dissolvant Miraculeus - £4.99
I think they may have changed the name of this product to 'magic nail polish remover' but you get the just of it. This is amazing and really does make it incredibly easy to remove your nail polish! Amazing!
