DIY iPhone Christmas Phone Case

Today for my Christmassy themed post I've decided to show you how to make a lovely DIY iPhone Christmas phone case. I've used this method for a while with various wrapping papers and I've gotten lots of compliments! I normally get the 'Did you seriously make that yourself?' line. So here's how you can do it!

You will need:
  • wrapping paper of your choice (I've gone for Christmas wrapping paper to get myself in the mood!)
  • a clear phone case
  • your phone
  • scissors
  • a craft/pen knife
  • a pencil
  • blue tac/ play dough
Ok, so let's get started!
1. Draw around your phone at your selected part of wrapping paper that you want to be on your phone case.

2. Cut around your line you have drawn so that it fits into your phone case. You might have to do a bit of trimming to get it to fit so be patient!

3. Put your wrapping paper in your phone case and also put in your phone. Take your pencil and draw around the camera hole.

4. Place your camera hole that you have drawn over a piece of blue tac. Cut out around a little bit outside the drawn camera hole so that it fits perfectly with the case.

5. Voila! You now have your Christmas phone case! Put it in your case and your finished! You can customise your phone case to every occasion or make whatever you like!

November Favourites 2013

This month I've been loving a good few products but I have scraped it back to ones I've not shown in a post yet. Here goes!

Again, I apologise for the picture quality. By the time I get around to taking the pictures it's dark so I need to use the flash. I'll include a closer picture of the nail polish tomorrow.

My first favourite is the Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion - £7.65. I've been loving this because it's super moisturising and doesn't feel greasy. It also dries in very quickly which is great because it means you don't have to dance around fanning your face before you apply any makeup.

Another favourite is my EOS lip balm in 'Summer Fruits'. I had to get this from Amazon because it isn't available in the UK. I seriously love this lip balm, it makes my lips feel so smooth! EOS really do make amazing lip balms, although I have to say, I'm not too keen on the smell of this one.

Another one of my favourites is my Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream - £7.99. I love this BB cream for evening out my skin tone and everyday use. This is my second tube of this although I'm not sure I would repurchase it because I could probably get something better for the same price. For a more in depth review go to my everyday makeup essentials here.

My final favourite is the Orly nails polish in 'Star Spangled' - £5.00. This nail polish is PERFECT for Christmas as it has a very fine glitter through it. I also love it because it reminds me of gel nail polish because it is incredibly smooth. I love love love this nail polish and I think I'll be wearing it for a lot of the Christmas season!

Review: Lush Santa's Lip Scrub

Ok, before I really go into this post, I would like to say a HUGE sorry for not posting in around two weeks! I've been really really busy and just couldn't find time to write a post. I will be more organised this month! Also, in the lead up to Christmas I hope to be posting more and my November favourites will be on here tomorrow at the very latest!

Right now, onto the product!

Lush Santa's Lip Scrub - £5.50

I'm sorry about the picture quality, no natural lighting was available.

This is my first Lush product that I have ever bought! I'm pretty impressed so far too! This lip scrub has done wonderful things to my lips and now they are as smooth as can be! I love this because it smells amazing (like cola! I preferred this to the sweet bubblegum scent) and is edible after use as it's made from natural ingredients. I am very impressed with this product and definitely think it was worth the £5. Brilliant, must-try product!

Nails of the Week - 18/11/2013

I got a new Revlon nail polish a couple of weeks ago from their chroma chameleon range and I couldn't wait to try it out. This week I decided to go for it and give it a try although I wasn't sure how I would like it on my nails, but I have to say, I'm loving it! It's a beautiful colour and looks perfect with gold or rose gold jewellery. So here it is!

Revlon Quick Dry Base Coat - £6.49
I recently got this base coat because I was in desperate need of a new one (my seventeen one wasn't doing much good). I've used this twice on my nails so far and it has prevented all staining and I've felt as if it has prolonged my nail polish and it really is very quick drying. A very good drugstore base coat!

Revlon Chroma Chameleon in 'Pink Quartz' - £6.49
This nail polish is a beautiful mix of pink and gold, and it looks amazing with either gold or rose gold jewellery. I've found that it applies very well and is fast drying although I've noticed a bit of bubbling on one of my nails but I don't know if that's because it wasn't fully dry when I applied a second coat. Beautiful polish nonetheless!

Maybelline Color Show in 'Clear Shine' - £2.99
This is my classic top coat that I wear all of the time. It feels perfectly smooth and dries pretty quickly. It gives the nails a beautiful shine and completes any manicure. A must try!

My Everyday Essential Makeup Brushes

I was originally going to combine this post with my everyday makeup essentials posts (found here) although soon found out that it would result in a huge novel. So I decided to make this a separate post. So here are my brushes that I use on a daily basis: (there wont be any links or prices for these but the coastal scents brushes can be found on ebay or amazon if your in the UK in a 12 piece brush set for something like £15)
(this is going from left to right throughout the post)

Coastal Scents 'LC'
This eyelash/eyebrow comb is something I use on a daily basis to make my eyebrows look tamed. It's pretty good although I don't know if it's 'amazing' compared to other lash combs.

Coastal Scents S17
I use this brush for my gel eyeliner and it works perfectly as it is thin enough to make the eyeliner look natural. Great brush for eyeliner. Perfect.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
I love this brush for blending in my concealer after I've partially blended it in with my fingers. I also like it for blending in thicker foundations as it gives a flawless finish.

Real Techniques Stippling Brush
When I first got this I never really had a purpose for it and mainly used the expert face brush. Although over the months I've found out that this works amazingly with BB creams and blends them to give a flawless finish.

Coastal Scents N24
This natural bristled angled blush brush blends blushers to perfection. It applies just the right amount and is the perfect size for blush. It is also amazing for contouring if you turn it so that it is thinner. It is a great all round, multipurpose brush!

Coastal Scents N27
This is again a natural bristle brush that applies just the right amount of product. In this case, powder. It is the perfect size and applies just enough to set foundation and cover oiliness without making it look cakey. This has to be one of my favourites.

My Everyday Makeup Essentials

I've been thinking recently that I've shared a few monthly favourite products with you but I have not yet shown you the makeup that I wear on a daily basis yet. So here goes. Here are my everyday essential makeup products:

Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer - £4.99
I have this product in normal and combination skin which is the blue lid, although it does come in dry and sensitive skin which is the pink lid. I find this primer does as it says on the box and moisturises while at the same time keeping your makeup in place all day. I do find although that on my dry patches I need to add another moisturiser as its made for combination skin but it's not all that much of a deal. I love this product and I think it makes my skin feel amazing!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - £4.19
This concealer has been raved about in the beauty world for quite a while now and no wonder. It covers beautifully and blends really easily to give you a flawless look. It's not cakey either! Nothing else I can say other than it's amazing!

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream - £7.99
When I bought this about a year ago, it was not £7.99. I have to say, I was pretty shocked when it came up on the boots website at that price when I was getting the link. There isn't a great variety of shades in this and depending on how much you apply, it can look a little orange. Especially the universal glow one. This is a pretty good BB cream, I mainly use it because it gives quite a natural finish which I like for school. It can although, stick to dry patches in the skin which is a pain but other than that it's a pretty good product.

Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder - £3.99
This is another product that a lot has been said about in the beauty world. At first I hated this product and thought it looked cakey (because I was applying far too much). But now I have realised that if you use a little bit of the powder with a natural bristle brush then it works perfectly.

Sleek blush in 'Rose Gold' - £4.49
I've already mentioned this in a few posts I think and every time I've expresses how amazing it is. You just must try it. It gives a lovely natural glow to the face and it's just beautiful!

Revlon Colorstay Crème Gel Eyeliner - £8.99
This eyeliner looks amazing and is easy to work with. It also applies very easily and nicely and has a beautiful matte finish. Love it!

Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner - £6.29
This again is another great eyeliner from Revlon. It glides on easily and stays put throughout the day. I love it! The colour payoff is amazing and it just looks great.

Maxfactor Lash Extension Effect mascara - £10.99
This mascara has to be an ol' trustee of mines. No matter how many other mascaras I try, I always come back to this one. It makes my lashes look great and separates them well for natural amazing looking lashes. It lengthens really well and just has amazing results.

P.S. How many times did I say 'amazing' in this thing!?

October Favourites 2013

This month I haven't really been trying any new products so I only have a few favourites to share with you. So here they are:

Sleek blush in 'Rose Gold' - £4.49
This blush is gorgeous and has been raved about in youtube especially. Definitely a worthwhile buy and yet it doesn't break the bank! The pigmentation in this blush is amazing and it looks beautiful and natural on the cheeks! Love it!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Lycra Flex mascara - £6.99
This mascara I have loved this month. It creates a very nice voluminous look to my lashes. I'm not going to bore you with a proper review of this product as I've already done an in depth review of it on another post here.

Boots Vitamin E gentle eye cream - £2.54
This eye cream makes your eyes feel so soft and reduces dark circles. It also contains SPF 15 so it saves your eyes from the sun (not that Britain have been getting much of that recently). I don't really know how else to describe it, just go try it out, you won't regret it!

Nivea Lip Butter in 'Raspberry Rose' - £2.25
This product feels and smells amazing. I've been spending a lot of time outdoors recently and have found that this lip butter has helped my lips stay moisturised. It's pretty thick in consistency and can sometimes can make your lips look a little pale, so I tend to use a lipstick/gloss over the top of it. Amazing product, especially for the colder months to come!

Nails of the week - 28/10/2013

This week I have been wearing a Catching Fire inspired manicure which I have been loving! If you want to see how I did it and what products I used click here. I cleaned my nails up after I took the picture hence the messiness!

Review: Maybelline Color Sensational lipsticks

I haven't really heard these products being talked about in either youtube or blogs, and I cant understand why! These lip sticks are amazing and definitely one of my most used lip products!
Maybelline Color Sensational lipsticks - £7.19

All of the colours in this line are beautiful! I love them! Even though I only have 3, I have a pretty descent idea of what ones are the best and most moisturising.

 '535 Ruby Star'
This colour is personally my least favourite because I find it awful bright. Also because it is not the most moisturising as it has golden shimmer through it. This is probably better for someone that likes bright red lip colours.

'150 Stellar Pink'
This is by far one of my favourite lip colours! It truly does look beautiful! It's shimmery but still moisturising unlike the one above, and it's a great everyday wear! I'd go and get this if you like a little shimmer in your lip product!

'540 Hollywood Red'
This colour really is beautiful. It is a matte brownish pinkish red which means it is not as full on as some reds can be. The name is perfect as it gives a perfect Hollywood red colour. I love this colour far far too much, it is also the most moisturising of the bunch which I believe is due to the matte finish.

Nails of the week - 14/10/2013

This week I decided to go for a rose goldish kind of colour, which so far I am loving! I feel it screams fall although is interchangeable into different seasons. The products I used were:
the 17 base coat I always use

Rimmel Salon Pro in '378 Posh Trash' - £4.49
I love the formula of these nail polishes and they give such a gel-like finish. I love them! Although I normally go for the Maybelline color show polishes because in my opinion, they Rimmel ones are on the higher scale on the highstreet nail polish scale. But still, amazing formula and beautiful colour!

Maybelline Color Show in '649 Clear Shine' - £2.99
This is my typical top coat now so I'm not going to bore you with another mini review. Its just an amazing top coat that gives a beautiful shine!

I then finished off by adding 3 gems to the top coat before it dried to add a little sparkle!

Review: Rimmel Scandal Eyes Lycra Flex Mascara

So, I was in Superdrug last week and they were having an offer on Rimmel that if you spend £10 or more on nail polish you get a free mascara. I easily spent the £10 on my nail polishes and collected my free Rimmel Scandal Eyes Lycra Flex mascara, so I thought I'd give you a review of a product I wouldn't normally think of buying.

The mascara can be a little clumpy and hold your lashes together so I use a eyebrow and lash comb from Costal Scents (BR-C-LC) to separate my lashes and give a more full effect. This mascara has a good staying power and does not flake to the touch. It also makes your lashes feel nice because of the lycra in it. Here are some pictures of how it applies, what it looks like and a picture of my lashes before and after I comb them out.

Review: Rimmel Space Dust

Rimmel Space Dust in '003 Aurora'
This is now by far one of my favourite nail polishes even though I've only had it a day! This is a perfect kind of rose gold colour that I adore! This is also great because it give great glitter coverage, only 2 coats are needed for a full glitter effect which is amazing because most glitter polishes only give little glitter coverage. The polish has a variety of sizes of glitter which also gives better coverage. All of the colours in this range are beautiful and I would highly recommend them!

When you apply the polish it feels a little like your painting them with a sand because of the fine glitter, but it still applies smoothly. The finished result feels slightly rough, but I'm sure with a few layers of a thickly applied top coat, that it should even out. I only applied a layer of my top coat and it still feels rough, but I got used to it very quickly.

This is definitely a product worth trying if you love the effect of glitter polishes (although trust me, it doesn't look too sparkly on your nails, I promise you!). Fab new product, much needed in the nail polish world!

You can find this nail polish for £3.99 at: Boots - link and Superdrug - link (free delivery until Oct 22nd!)

September Favourites 2013

This month there has been several products that I have been loving. So today I decided to share them with you:)

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - £3.99
This is one of the most talked about British high street concealers, and no wonder. It's brilliant! It really does last all day on your face although as you can see, the packaging doesn't but I don't mind. My one is in the shade '1 Fair' although it is too light so I need to get a darker shade. Just get it and try it out because it is amazing!

Maxfactor Lash Extension Effect Extreme Lengthening Mascara - £10.99
This mascara is on the higher end of the high street makeup scale, but in my opinion it is worth it! If you don't like spidery lashes and prefer a more natural look the this is the mascara for you! It's reasonably volumising for a lengthening mascara but if you like a very voluminous look then I wouldn't say this is one for you. This is perfect for school as it gives just the perfect natural-ish look while adding a little somin'-somin'!

Maybelline Color Sensational in '150 Stellar Pink' - £7.99
This lipstick is gorgeous! I have been wearing it nearly every day because it gives a beautiful colour! Also, I was surprised when I found out how moisturising it was especially for lipsticks which I can sometimes find drying. I'm in love with this! The colour is a beautiful rose colour and is perfect for everyday wear!

Rimmel Glam Eyes Trio Eyeshadow in '621 Orion' - £6.49
I love this eyeshadow trio! Although because I have oily eyelids I haven't found the perfect primer to keep my shadow from creasing so if you have any good ones, leave them below! These colours are beautiful and create the perfect neutral eye! Amazing pigmentation! Not much else to say.

Baylis & Harding wild rose and raspberry leaf moisturising hand lotion - unsure of price
This hand lotion is too good for words. It smells amazing and feels great too! The rose scent is what drew me to the product as I love rose scents and I couldn't believe my luck when I tried it out! Guys, it seriously does smell AMAZING! I just love it and I'll be needing it for the cold Scottish months soon to come!

Thank you for reading my first ever monthly favourites blog post, there should be many more to come! Please leave feedback and requests in the comments and I'll see ya next time!
